Beautiful photos! The food looks soooo gooood! My dad always tells us to never eat at the fancy empty restaurants. Go eat at the packed little places - that's where the good eats will be. :)

Mmm, laksa. I have a great, simple and relatively convincing-tasting laksa recipe from a student cookbook I picked up somewhere along the way... it's completely not gourmet (and the ingredients include packet ramen) but very cheap and quick. Let me know if you'd like a copy!
I hope on one of these trips to the asia-pacific you will visit Oz one day. We have food here too you know! And a great songwriter called Mal Webb who wrote a whole song about laksa! (lyrics are here: http://malwebb.customer.netspace.net.au/laksa.html)

So now I have to ask if those little limes are what I would call 'kalamansi'--round, lime-ish fruits that make a spectacular citrusade. I love those little limettes...
