That is so cool (especially the Warhol jacket, if it's true). Your blog really has become a bit of an argument for living in NY recently. :)

The first time I went to NYC (the big sixth grade field trip in the very distant past) we saw both Peter Falk (Columbo) and Col. Klink (who's real name escapes me). Col. Klink actually walked a ways with the group and chatted with some of the kids. I've been to NYC a variety of times after that and never saw another celebrity! Go figure.

I found a way to take a picture of Alan Alda, is all I'm saying. (although honestly I think he's more worth making a photographic ass of yourself over than Claire Danes. Nothing against Claire Danes--she's just no Alan Alda.)

So cool! I bet you felt like a real New Yorker.

I sat next to the one of the Temptations on a plane once.

I saw Claire Danes at the restaurant where I work - if I recall she ordered a salad and a pasta. I really like that jacket, actually, but if it were mine I'd plaster it with a sign that said "made by Andy Warhol"

I guess I'll just be showing my age and not showing off if I tell that I used to occasionally wait on Andy Warhol at the restaurant I worked at in the Village when I first moved to NYC in the late '70s.

Years ago, I stood near Meryl Streep in the line for the loo at a Lilith Fair concert. I wanted to photograph the moment, but it would have been awkward on so many levels.
