new life!

Published by Mintyfresh at 7:48 am under miscellaneous

My old college roommate sent me my first real mail at my new apartment–a plant kit with a message printed on the seed itself! There is scant information about what kind of plant this will become, but it sprouted within two weeks or so. Here’s the various stages of its emergence into the world. It was fun to watch it sprout; I have it sitting on the window ledge behind the bed, so I see it every morning. Thanks again, hon!

I think its just a standard bean plant you have there. It’s the kind of bean given to elementary school kids so that they can learn “science.” So it sprouts and grows quickly but isn’t exactly a nice looking houseplant.

First of all, your old roommate is very cool. Secondly, I’ve seen these before and they are also very cool. Coolness abounds. ;) Happy housewarming.

The close-up shots make it look HUGE! Be carfeul, it might latch on to your head of you walk by! eep

I agrre withthe assesment of “bean”. I had one that lasted for a while. Try sticking something trellis-like in the pot so it can climb up.

    Hooray for mail!

That is so cool! I just wracked my brain trying to think of someone I could send this to, but all of my friends are doing non-risky things for now. Darn it.

I cannot even control my excitement! It actually grew like they said it would, and it really said *Good Luck* on it! OMG! I feel like a little kid, tearing through gifts on Christmas morning, only this time I gave the gift. I’m just THAT excited!

You are so welcome, and I’m so happy it grew for you. And that you posted it as well! Enjoy! (and let me know how long it lasts…)

Sweet gift! And may I say I’m impressed by the shockingly consistent lighting you achieved over two weeks. It looks like it was all taken in the same minute.
