i suppose it’s kind of a cheat
But Lolly’s Project Spectrum hype is a little too much for me to resist, and I just made a red toy this morning, so I think I might be taking part in this shebang.
A friend joked that his method of observing Lent was to keep careful notes of everything he does during that time, then at the end he looks over it to see what it was he gave up. So if in those 40 days (it’s 40 days, right?) he happened to not eat lamb, or not watch a particular TV show, or maybe not date anyone, he could say “oh, I gave up lamb,” or “I gave up this TV show,” or “I gave up on women.” We laughed about that for a while, and I’m ashamed to say I seem to be using a similar rationale to join Project Spectrum.
“Hey, look, I just made a red thing. Looks like I managed to participate after all.”
But now I’m interested in the event as a whole. And I may be making something in pink very soon, which would be after joining the project and thus count for more. Stay tuned!

It’s a pleasure to have you ;) and you are not a cheat. Your little cat is adorable! Thanks for joining Flickr group as well.
What a neat idea! And I don’t think being motivated to join because you already made a red thing is in any way cheating — I call it smart!
I like your logic! I was particularly inspired to join up as well because this month is red/pink, red is my favourite colour, and I have one lonesome ball of red alpaca sitting there waiting to become a pair of wrist warmers. I’m hoping however that I will be inspired to try different colours over the coming months!
